Sometimes, a fresh start is the best way to fix persistent app issues. Clearing storage (App Data) will wipe all settings, bringing the app back to its default state.

Warning: Backup Required

Clearing App Data will delete all your saved settings, including your server configuration. To "keep" your config, you must back it up manually before proceeding.

Step 1: Backup Your Server Configuration

Do not skip this step, or you will lose your connection settings!

  1. Open the BroadcastMyself app.
  2. Go to the settings/configuration screen where your server details are listed.
  3. Write down or take a screenshot of the following details:
    • Hostname / IP Address
    • Port Number
    • Mount Point (e.g., /live)
    • Username (if applicable)
    • Password
    • Audio Quality Settings (Bitrate, Sample Rate, etc.)

Step 2: Open App Info

  1. Go to your phone's Settings.
  2. Tap on Apps (or Apps & Notifications).
  3. Find BroadcastMyself in the list and tap on it.
  4. Alternative: Long-press the BroadcastMyself app icon on your home screen and tap the "i" (Info) button if available.

Step 3: Clear Storage (App Data)

  1. On the App Info screen, tap on Storage & Cache (or just Storage).
  2. Tap Clear Storage (or Clear Data).
  3. Confirm the action when prompted.

Note: Do not just click "Clear Cache" if you want a full reset. You must select "Clear Storage" or "Clear Data" to completely reset the app.

Step 4: Restore Configuration

  1. Open the BroadcastMyself app again. It will open as if it were a fresh install.
  2. Grant any necessary permissions (Microphone, Storage, etc.).
  3. Go to the settings menu.
  4. Re-enter the Hostname, Port, Mount Point, Password, and other details you saved in Step 1.
